Microsoft Active Directory Migration Tool (ADMT) is a legacy utility designed for on-premises Active Directory-to-Active Directory migrations. It requires direct LAN connectivity (RPC) and domain trusts, making it unsuitable for modern cloud, remote, or hybrid scenarios. ADMT was designed in the early 2000s for migrations from legacy Windows NT deployments to Windows 2000+. As a result, it is no longer actively developed and is considered a legacy solution by Microsoft.
